Speaker Anita Among Engages in Talks with Malaysian Parliament Speaker.

Speaker Anita Among held discussions with the Speaker of the Parliament of Malaysia, Rt. Hon Johari Abdul. During the meeting, Speaker Among expressed Uganda's eagerness to enhance investment cooperation with Malaysia and strengthen the bilateral relations between the two parliamentary bodies. Speaker Johari emphasized the significance of East and Africa cooperation in fostering opportunities for the growing population and positioning the region for a prominent role in the 21st century. In a gesture of collaboration, Speaker Johari extended an offer to attract Malaysian investors to Uganda's agriculture sector. The meeting took place in anticipation of the 27th Conference of Speakers and Presiding Officers (CSPOC), scheduled to officially commence tomorrow.

Pastor Alloysious Bugingo Survives Attempted Murder.

The Old Kampala Police have initiated a thorough investigation into a tragic incident involving the attempted murder of Pastor Alloysious Bugingo from the House of Prayer Ministry and the unfortunate killing of his bodyguard, Muhumuza Richard. The incident occurred at approximately 9 PM on January 2nd, 2024, when unidentified assailants opened fire on Pastor Bugingo's vehicle, registered as PRAIZ GOD, along Namungona, Zone 2, Kasubi Rubaga Division Kampala, at Bwalakata Junction along National Housing Road, before swiftly escaping the scene on a motorcycle. Despite sustaining injuries, Pastor Aloysious Bugingo managed to transport the vehicle to Mulago Hospital. Unfortunately, his bodyguard, Muhumuza Richard, succumbed to the assault and was confirmed dead upon arrival at the hospital. Pastor Bugingo is currently receiving medical treatment and is under close monitoring. Upon immediate response to the incident, the police discovered that the scene had been tampered with.
