Release of Parish Development Model (PDM) Funds Delayed for Research on Inclusivity and Effectiveness.

During a stakeholders meeting in Kampala, Dr. Edward Katende, a representative from the PDM national coordination office at KCCA, announced that the release of funds for the Parish Development Model (PDM) program will depend on the completion of a research study assessing its effectiveness and inclusivity.

The PDM program, which was launched by the government last year, aimed to provide Shs100 million to each parish for development in the subsistence sector.

However, Dr. Katende stressed that the release of funds would require a thorough investigation of the program's implementation to ensure it benefits the intended groups of people.

The research study, being conducted by Makerere University Business School, will focus on collecting factual data on how the PDM program can be handled and implemented in the five divisions of Kampala, namely Kampala, Makindye, Lubaga, Kawempe, and Nakawa.
