Ghanaian footballer Christian Atsu's body returned home after Turkey earthquake.
The body of Ghanaian footballer, Christian Atsu, who died after an earthquake in Turkey, has been returned to Ghana.
The 31-year-old player had been found dead beneath his home in southern Turkey two weeks ago.
Atsu had played for Premier League clubs Everton and Newcastle, as well as 65 times for Ghana's national team. Vice-President Mahamudu Bawumia spoke at the airport in Accra, saying that the late footballer was much-loved and would be sorely missed.
His remains were accompanied to Ghana by family members and the
ambassador to Turkey.
