Qatar-based bid to buy Manchester United confirmed.

Sheikh Jassim Bin Hamad Al Thani, the chairman of the Qatar Islamic Bank, has confirmed a bid to buy Manchester United, vowing to make the club great again both on and off the pitch.

The bid will be debt-free and made via his Nine Two Foundation, which will invest in various aspects of the club.

The Glazer family has been in control of Manchester United since 2005, but their loans to gain control were shifted to the club, resulting in debt.

Sir Jim Ratcliffe, the owner of petrochemical company Ineos, is also interested in buying the club. The Glazers have stated they are open to offers for the club.
