NUP Prepares for councillorship Elections

KAMPALA – The National Unity Platform held a press conference today to announce its official candidates for local government positions in the Kampala district. The event took place at the party’s headquarters in Makerere Kavule.
The party's leader, Robert Kyagulanyi, sent off the candidates, who are running for positions like division mayors and local council leaders. He urged the public to vote for these candidates, who will be using the party's official "umbrella" symbol.
Kyagulanyi stressed that the party will only support these official candidates and not those running as independents. He also thanked all candidates who lost in the party's selection process for accepting the results peacefully and supporting the winners. He said that giving in is not a sign of weakness but a show of respect for the party.
In other news, the party's committee for managing elections announced that it will start the process of choosing candidates for Member of Parliament on September 15th.
