Kampala, Uganda – Uganda has officially opened a new, modern Traffic Control Center in Kampala. The opening was led by the Japanese Ambassador to Uganda, H.E. Takuya Sasayama.
The new facility is valued at 47 billion Ugandan shillings (about $24 million USD). It is the first of its kind in East Africa.
The center is expected to make a big difference in the city by:
Easing traffic jams.
Reducing air pollution.
Helping Uganda’s public transport programs.
The project highlights the strong partnership between Uganda and Japan in improving the country's infrastructure.
