Big Change Halted for Uganda Football League
The FUFA Executive Committee has decided to pause a major planned change for the upcoming 2025/2026 StarTimes Uganda Premier League season.
The football authority was planning to use a new format for the league. However, after talking with the league's clubs, the sponsors, and the Uganda Premier League Board, they have chosen to suspend the new system.
This means that a specific rule, Rule 14:4-12 of the FUFA Competition Rules 2025, will not be used for the coming season.
FUFA stated the main reason for the suspension is to give everyone involved more time to understand the new league changes. They plan to hold various meetings and activities to teach the teams and others about the proposed reforms before they are put into action.
