UNEB Clarifies: No "Mock Exams," Just "Pre-Tests".

Kampala, Uganda – The Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) wants to make something clear. They are not going to start setting "mock examinations" for schools, even though some news reports said they would. UNEB says that a recent news story incorrectly used the words "pre-tests" and "mock exams" as if they were the same thing. These pre-tests are part of UNEB's effort to make sure the questions and tasks used for the new Competency-Based Assessment are of good quality. So, while UNEB is indeed doing some testing in schools, it's for quality checks of their new assessment methods, not for setting practice "mock exams" that students would take.
