Serious Bus Collision at Katinda Bridge Leaves 20 Injured in Ntungamo-Kabale Road Accident.

A serious accident was reported earlier today, March 29th, 2023, along the Ntungamo-Kabale road, specifically at Katinda bridge. 

According to the territorial traffic police of Rwizi at Ntungamo Police station, two buses were involved in the collision, one being a RAD 795B Hyundai bus belonging to Volcano bus company and the other a RAC 704L Scania bus belonging to Trinity bus company. 

Reports indicate that the Hyundai bus, which was heading towards Kabale, swerved to the right upon reaching the bridge and collided head-on with the Scania bus, which was traveling in the opposite direction on its lane towards Ntungamo. 

The accident resulted in 20 passengers from both buses being injured. Police officers promptly responded to the scene and transported the victims to Itojo Hospital, Mbarara hospital, and Doctor's referral hospital - Rubaare for medical attention. 

Further investigations into the cause of the accident are currently ongoing. ASP Faridah Nampiima Pro Traffic and Road Safety has assured the public that they will provide more details as they become available.
