Keanu Reeves and Girlfriend Alexandra Grant Cozy up at JFK Airport.

  Actor Keanu Reeves and his girlfriend Alexandra Grant were spotted arriving at JFK International Airport on Friday, looking cozy and stylish.  The John Wick star was dressed mostly in black, sporting a black jacket, pants, and toque, with brown ankle boots, a charcoal toned scarf, and carrying a rugged backpack and rolling suitcase with a carryon bag.  Alexandra, an artist, looked comfortably stylish in a navy blue turtleneck sweater, light blue ankle jeans, thick soled black ankle boots, and a black puffy vest, with dark sunglasses and a small black crossover bag.  The couple went public with their relationship in 2019, but had been friends for many years before their first date.  Alexandra had just opened her first solo show, Antigone 3000, at the Miles McEnery Gallery in New York, which will be open through June 3rd.

  Keanu Reeves has rekindled the affection of the online community once again, as a heartwarming encounter between the actor and a nine-year-old super fan has gone viral.  The charming video, which features the actor meeting the young boy at a comic book store, has taken social media by storm, with one fan even stating that the clip has restored his "faith in humanity."  The star's delightful interaction with his admirer occurred during a signing of his comic BRZRKR at Golden Apple Comics in Los Angeles, and was captured on camera by YouTuber Noah of Noah's Amazing Reviews.  The footage shows the youngster expressing his excitement at meeting Reeves, who then proceeded to impress him with an impromptu impression of his character from Toy Story 4.

Adele and Rich Paul Attend NBA Playoff Game in LA Courtside Glam.

  International music superstar Adele and her fiancé, Rich Paul, made a public appearance at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles on Friday, where they were spotted enjoying an NBA playoff game between the Los Angeles Lakers and the Memphis Grizzlies.  The couple looked absolutely smitten with each other, putting their love on full display for all to see. This outing came hot on the heels of a wild Thursday night party with close friend James Corden at his Late Late Show afterparty, where Adele was seen having a great time until 4am.  Despite the late night, the singer put on a stunning display, sporting a glamorous smokey-eye makeup and a bold brown lipstick as she smiled and chatted with Rich courtside.

Police Arrest Motorcycle Theft Ring in Kawempe Division.

  In a successful operation carried out on April 19th, 2023, the territorial police in Kawempe Division apprehended a group of individuals involved in motorcycle theft in Lugoba Village Urban Council. Acting on a tip-off, the police were able to arrest Mayanja Godfrey, Mukunda Charles, Asiimwe Brian, Katongole Reagan, Tamale Vincent, and Kayemba Elvis, who were found in possession of stolen motorcycles and parts. Mayanja Godfrey, a self-proclaimed mechanic, was arrested from his residence in Lugoba Village Urban Council, where police discovered stolen items, including two number plates, two pairs of side mirrors, and two number plate guards. He led the police to Mukunda Charles, who was caught with a stolen motorcycle and later confessed to stealing it from his boss. Charles then led the police to Semakau's parking yard, where they recovered another stolen motorcycle. Prime Minister and Dignitaries Attend Prayers for Late Muhakanizi.

  Prime Minister Rt Hon Nabbanja Robinah has joined mourners from all walks of life to pay their respects to the late Muhakanizi at a service being held at his home in Bugolobi Kampala. Distinguished technocrats, family members, and friends are among those in attendance. The service has brought together notable figures such as Security Minister Gen Jim Muhwezi, Internal Affairs State Minister Gen David Muhoozi, Agriculture State Minister Dr Bright Rwamirama, and Deputy IGP Tumusiime Kasigazi, as well as permanent secretaries, politicians, and other dignitaries. The late Muhakanizi's body is expected to arrive at Entebbe International airport on Saturday morning from Milan, Italy, where he passed away. An official funeral service, to be attended by the President of Uganda, will take place on Saturday afternoon at Kololo Ceremonial grounds. This will precede his burial ceremony on Sunday in Lyantonde.

Police issue a statement on Kinoni Fatal accident.

  Tragedy struck on the Masaka-Mbarara highway as a fatal accident claimed the lives of nine people on the spot.  The accident occurred at Kyoja Trading Centre, with the Territorial Traffic Police at Kinoni registering the incident at around 4 PM today, April 7, 2023.   According to ASP Faridah Nampiima, PRO Traffic and Road Safety, the collision involved an Alphard, registration number UBL 314C, traveling from Kampala towards Mbarara, and a fuel tanker with registration numbers SSD 327S/SSD 137Q, headed in the opposite direction from Mbarara/Kinoni town.  The preliminary findings indicate that the Alphard driver was speeding and driving on the right side of the road when the head-on collision occurred, leading to the tragic loss of lives.  The deceased include seven adults and two juveniles who were passengers in the Alphard.  The driver of the fuel truck and his assistant sustained injuries and were rushed to Masaka referral hospital for treatment. Namirembe Diocese Joins Uganda Joint Christian Council for Way of the Cross Procession.

  Namirembe Diocese has partnered with the Uganda Joint Christian Council to honor the public way of the cross.  The commemoration, themed “Do good, seek justice, prepare for judgment” draws inspiration from Isaiah 1:17 and Hebrews 9:27.  Bishop Wilberforce Kityo Luwalira led the procession from the centenary house, the Diocesan offices, to the old Kampala Secondary School playground.  The route included stops at various significant places such as Kampala School for the physically handicapped, Mengo Hospital, and Sanyu babies home where different Bible readings were recited to mark the solemn occasion.

Minister Kitutu and brother remanded to Luzira Prison

  The Anti-Corruption Unit of State House Uganda, in conjunction with the Uganda Police, has charged Honorable Mary Goretti Kitutu and her brother, Michael Naboya Kitutu, with two counts of Conspiracy to Defraud and Loss of Public Property.  The charges stem from allegations that Hon. Kitutu diverted iron sheets intended for vulnerable communities in the Karamoja subregion.  Both individuals have been remanded until April 12th, 2023.  This is a developing story, and we will bring you further updates as they become available.

Consecration and Enthronement of Bishop Mbitse in colorful ceremony at St Andrew's Cathedral Seseme.

  The Diocese of Muhabura welcomed its third Bishop, the Rt Rev Godfrey Mbitse, in a splendid ceremony at St Andrew's Cathedral Seseme in Kisoro District.  The event was graced by the Most Rev Dr Stephen Samuel Kaziimba Mugalu, Archbishop of the Church of Uganda, who presided over the occasion, and Maj (Rtd) Jessica Alupo, the Vice President of the Republic of Uganda, who represented President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni Tibuhaburwa as the Chief Guest.   During his address, Archbishop Kaziimba emphasized the importance of unity for service and growth in the Diocese.  He urged Bishop Mbitse and the people of Muhabura to lead with humility and endurance as they handle the clergy and the people of God.  He also urged them to remain steadfast in God's word, to fellowship with believers, and to be patient and bold as they preach and teach God's people.   President Museveni's representative, the Vice President, lauded the Church for being a dependable partner ...

Rev. Barnabas Tibaijuka elected as 1st Bishop of West Ruwenzori Diocese.

  In a recent announcement made by the House of Bishops, Rev. Barnabas Tibaijuka has been elected as the first Bishop of West Ruwenzori Diocese, with his consecration and enthronement set to take place on August 27th, 2023 in Bundibugyo.  Rev. Barnabas was born in Butungama, Bundibugyo District, on May 8th, 1975, and became a born-again Christian during an open-air crusade in April 1994.  He holds a Master's degree from Mountains of the Moon University in Fort Portal, and a Bachelor of Divinity from Uganda Christian University in Mukono, having been ordained as a deacon in 2010 and a priest in 2011.  His previous roles include classroom teacher, head teacher, and catechist, and he has also served as the Diocesan Youth Worker and Vicar of several parishes within the Ruwenzori Diocese.  With a passion for translating the Bible into Lubwisi and teaching at Bishop Balya College, Rev. Remembering Archbishop Cyprian Kizito Lwanga on the Second Anniversary of his Death.

  Today marks the second anniversary of the passing of Archbishop Cyprian Kizito Lwanga, who died on April 3, 2021, under mysterious circumstances.  To honor his memory, the Catholic Church held a Mass at Rubaga Cathedral, which was presided over by Archbishop Paul Ssemogerere. Lwanga was a prominent figure in the Catholic Church in Uganda. Born on January 19, 1953, in Kyabakadde Village, he was ordained as a priest on April 8, 1978, at Rubaga Cathedral by Cardinal Emmanuel Kiwanuka Nsubuga.  He served as a priest in the Kampala Archdiocese until November 30, 1996. In 1996, Lwanga was appointed as the first bishop of the Diocese of Kasana-Luweero and consecrated bishop on March 1, 1997.  He later became the third Archbishop of the Archdiocese of Kampala on August 19, 2006, succeeding Cardinal Emmanuel Wamala, who had resigned. Rev. Canon Godfrey Kasana Elected as 4th Bishop of Luweero Diocese.

  The House of Bishops has announced the appointment of Rev. Canon Godfrey Kasana as the new Bishop of Luweero Diocese.  The election was held on 3rd April 2023 in Kisoro. Canon Kasana, who was born in Sekamuli, Wabinyinja, Bamunanika Sub-country on 11th January 1971, will assume his new position on 16th July 2023 at St. Mark’s Cathedral, Luweero. Canon Kasana’s ministerial journey began as a Lay Reader before being ordained a deacon in 2009.  He later earned a Bachelor of Divinity degree from Uganda Christianity University in 2009 and is currently pursuing a Master of Arts in Development Studies from Ndejje University.  Canon Kasana has held various pastoral and administrative roles, including Diocesan Youth Secretary, Parish Priest, Archdeacon, and Diocesan Director of Household and Community Transformation. Ugandan President Museveni urges African nations to reject homosexuality.

  Ugandan President, Yoweri Museveni, has urged African nations to take a stand against the promotion of homosexuality, which he claims is a significant threat to the continuation of the human race.  Speaking to a delegation of Members of Parliament from more than 22 African nations and the United Kingdom at the First ever Inter-Parliamentary Conference on Family Values and Sovereignty in Entebbe, Museveni called on Africa to lead the way in resisting what he describes as a "dangerous degeneration and decadence" for humanity.  "If people of opposite sex stop appreciating one another, then how will the human race be propagated?" he questioned.

Police issues a statement on Buloba Fatal accident

The Traffic police at  Buloba Police station,  has today evening  01/04/2023 at around 20:00/c registered a fatal accident at Buloba Forest Park which has claimed lives of five people.  Preliminary findings indicate that motor vehicle registration number UAX628S Scania loaded with parked water from Kampala side heading to Mityana,  had a tyre Burst and lost control and rammed into five  motorvehicles;  UBE613E Toyota Hiace , UAR 175W Isuzu Elf, UAX783F Mitsubishi Pajero  and UFL 384D Bajaj Boxer, killing five people on spot. Among the dead, two were passengers  from  motor vehicle reg no UAV 515J, other two from UBE 613E Toyota Hiace and the fifth was the Bodaboda rider. Unidentified number of victims have been rushed  to Mulago Hospital for medical help. Inquiries into the matter are underway and more details will be availed.

iOS 16.4 update brings new emoji and improved Voice Isolation.

  IPhone users from the iPhone 8 and above can now download the latest software update - iOS 16.4 - from Apple.  The updated operating system boasts of a variety of new features, including the long-awaited pink heart emoji and 20 other new emojis.  Among these additions are a shaking face symbolizing being shook, a moose, stem ginger, the Wi-Fi icon, and a pair of maracas.  Additionally, Voice Isolation has been improved to cancel out background noise during phone calls.
