Rev. Canon Godfrey Kasana Elected as 4th Bishop of Luweero Diocese.
The House of Bishops has announced the appointment of Rev. Canon Godfrey Kasana as the new Bishop of Luweero Diocese.
The election was held on 3rd April 2023 in Kisoro. Canon Kasana, who was born in Sekamuli, Wabinyinja, Bamunanika Sub-country on 11th January 1971, will assume his new position on 16th July 2023 at St. Mark’s Cathedral, Luweero.
Canon Kasana’s ministerial journey began as a Lay Reader before being ordained a deacon in 2009.
He later earned a Bachelor of Divinity degree from Uganda Christianity University in 2009 and is currently pursuing a Master of Arts in Development Studies from Ndejje University.
Canon Kasana has held various pastoral and administrative roles, including Diocesan Youth Secretary, Parish Priest, Archdeacon, and Diocesan Director of Household and Community Transformation.
Canon Kasana's experience extends beyond his home country, having traveled extensively and ministered in different parts of the world, including the UK, Europe, India, and South Africa.
He has also been instrumental in coordinating
international partnerships in Luweero Diocese. Canon Kasana is married to
Harriet Kasana, and the couple has been blessed with seven children.
