Kampala, Uganda – President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has arrived at the home of the late Justice Professor George Wilson Kanyeihamba. Justice Kanyeihamba, a highly respected legal expert and former Justice of the Supreme Court of Uganda, passed away on Friday, July 19, 2025, at the age of 85.
Justice Kanyeihamba was a very important figure in Uganda's legal history. He served as both a former Minister of Justice and Attorney General, playing a key role in creating Uganda's laws and constitution.
He was also a founding member of the Uganda Human Rights Commission. In addition, he was an influential teacher, having taught law at Makerere University and in other countries.
The President's visit highlights the nation's mourning for a man who greatly contributed to Uganda's legal and constitutional development.
