Nebbi Gets Ready for President Museveni's Big Rally

NEBBI — The political group, the National Resistance Movement (NRM), in Nebbi District has finished its final planning meeting for a big event. President Yoweri Museveni is scheduled to hold a campaign rally there tomorrow. The people in charge of the campaign in Nebbi met today to make sure everything is ready. Large Crowds Expected Phiona Nyamutoro, who is the State Minister for Mineral Development and is also running for Nebbi Woman MP under the NRM, said that all the work to get people to attend has been completed. After the meeting, Minister Nyamutoro told reporters that they met with local NRM leaders to plan the best way to bring people to the rally, especially since it is in the morning. President Appoints New Anti-Corruption Chief.

President Yoweri Museveni has named a new leader for Uganda's anti-corruption body, the Inspectorate of Government (IGG). Justice Aisha Naluzze Batala has been chosen as the new Inspector General of Government. She replaces the former IGG, Hon. Beti Olive Namisango Kamya. Justice Batala is a High Court Judge who previously worked as a prosecutor for many years at the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP). In the same change, the two Deputy IGGs, Dr. Patricia Achan Okiria and Mrs. Anne Twinomugisha Muhairwe, will keep their jobs. The President has now sent the names of all three appointees to the Parliament of Uganda. The Parliament must approve the appointments before the new IGG and her deputies can officially start their work.

President Museveni Gets Huge Welcome at Dokolo Rally.

President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni received a massive, heroic welcome today at the Dokolo Technical School playgrounds. Thousands of people gathered to see the NRM Presidential Flagbearer at his second rally of the day. The President is set to speak about the NRM Manifesto for the period 2026–2031. His main message will be the need to protect all the good progress and achievements Uganda has made under the NRM government. Upon arrival, the President was warmly greeted by top NRM officials. These included the Party’s Second National Vice Chairperson (Female), Right Honourable Annet Anita Among, the Vice Chairperson for Northern Uganda, Honourable Hamson Obua, and the NRM Secretary General, Right Honourable Richard Todwong, along with other senior party leaders.

President Museveni Starts Campaign in Lango Region.

President Yoweri Museveni has kicked off his campaign in the Lango sub-region today! The President, who is the main candidate for the NRM party, arrived at the Amolatar Secondary School playgrounds for his first rally. He was welcomed by many important NRM leaders. This included members of the party's top committee, the Secretariat team led by the Secretary General, Rt Hon Richard Todwong, as well as Members of Parliament (MPs) and local leaders. Later, President Museveni spoke to the massive crowd. He used both English and the local Lango language, which the crowd enjoyed very much. He used Lango words like:  * Kuc (meaning peace)  * Can (meaning poverty)  * Dongo lobo (meaning development)  * Lonyo (meaning wealth) Most importantly, the local leaders thanked the President. They gave him high praise for bringing peace to their area. The rally focused on securing the good things the region has achieved.

​ KAMPALA, UGANDA - President Yoweri Museveni has been officially nominated to run for president. The Independent Electoral Commission confirmed his nomination today. He will be the candidate for the National Resistance Movement (NRM) party. ​After his nomination, President Museveni spoke to the public. He thanked the NRM members for choosing him. He promised to work hard for the party's goals. A key promise he made was to make Uganda a higher middle-income country. ​Later today, President Museveni will go to Kololo Independence Grounds. He is expected to speak to many of his supporters there. The theme of his campaign is "Protecting the Gains."

Lweza, Uganda – President Museveni has been officially nominated by the Electoral Commission to run in the upcoming 2026 elections. The nomination took place today at the Electoral Commission's offices in Lweza, Lubowa. This is a significant step as he seeks to extend his time in office. The nomination marks the formal beginning of his campaign for the next presidential term.

Museveni Presents New Firefighting Vehicle.

​President Museveni was happy to show a new firefighting vehicle called the Muliro Eater to ambassadors from the USA, Russia, the UK, and the European Union. A prototype of the vehicle was on display at the meeting. ​The President said he was inspired to create the vehicle after seeing on TV how fires have destroyed towns and regions in these countries. The Muliro Eater combines African firefighting tactics with military tank technology. ​President Museveni hopes the ambassadors will like the idea and decide to buy the vehicles. He said this project shows Uganda's dedication to helping others and promoting African inventions.  

Mukula Steps Aside for Echodu, Museveni Praises "Solution-Based Leadership

President Museveni said this is a good example of "solution-based leadership." He said it is more important to get things done than to worry about who is in charge. KAMPALA, UGANDA – The National Resistance Movement (NRM) party has chosen President Yoweri Museveni to be their candidate for president again. He will run in the election for the years 2026 to 2031. The party's meeting, called the National Delegates Conference, was held at Kololo Independence Grounds. At the meeting, everyone agreed that President Museveni should be the one to lead the party and run for president. In a speech, President Museveni said thank you to the people who chose him. He said, "I thank you for putting trust in me to be your chairman of the NRM... and for electing me as the party flagbearer for the presidential contest." He also congratulated his fellow party member, Hajji Moses Kigongo. Kigongo was elected without anyone running against him. This means President Museveni will be on the ballot in the next big election in Uganda. He has been president since 1986.

  Entebbe, Uganda – The head of Uganda's Special Forces Command (SFC), Major General David Mugisha , has thanked President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni for his leadership. Maj Gen Mugisha said that President Museveni's vision has turned the Uganda Peoples’ Defence Forces (UPDF) into a modern and skilled army. "I thank President Museveni, who is also the Commander-in-Chief of the UPDF, for his good leadership. He has changed the army from a group fighting a guerrilla war into a modern and professional force in the region," said Maj Gen Mugisha. He made these comments at a ceremony where 52 SFC officers retired at the SFC headquarters in Entebbe. This group included eight high-ranking officers and 44 other soldiers.
