President Yoweri Museveni has kicked off his campaign in the Lango sub-region today!
The President, who is the main candidate for the NRM party, arrived at the Amolatar Secondary School playgrounds for his first rally.
He was welcomed by many important NRM leaders. This included members of the party's top committee, the Secretariat team led by the Secretary General, Rt Hon Richard Todwong, as well as Members of Parliament (MPs) and local leaders.
Later, President Museveni spoke to the massive crowd. He used both English and the local Lango language, which the crowd enjoyed very much.
He used Lango words like:
* Kuc (meaning peace)
* Can (meaning poverty)
* Dongo lobo (meaning development)
* Lonyo (meaning wealth)
Most importantly, the local leaders thanked the President. They gave him high praise for bringing peace to their area. The rally focused on securing the good things the region has achieved.
