President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has thanked Egyptian President, Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, for inviting him to talks. It was the first visit to Egypt for President Museveni in a long time. The two countries are connected by the Nile River.
During the meeting, the leaders talked about the future of the Nile. President Museveni said that countries along the river should work together. He said they should not just think about their own history. Instead, they should focus on what all the countries need.
The goal, he said, should be to make everyone rich, give everyone electricity, and provide clean water for all. He believes that if they work together with these goals, they can find the best and most fair ways to use the river.
Museveni also thanked Egypt for helping Uganda with foot-and-mouth disease vaccines. He was happy that Egypt will help build a vaccine factory in Uganda. He said that working together on business is very important for Africa to grow.
The two leaders agreed to work together on many things. They signed agreements about business, farming, water, and other important areas. They want to create jobs and get electricity and water to their people.
