Manchester United has officially announced the signing of Benjamin Šeško, a highly-rated striker from Slovenia. The 22-year-old joins the club from RB Leipzig and has signed a long-term contract that will keep him at Old Trafford until June 2030.
Šeško is considered one of Europe's most promising young talents. In the last two seasons, he has scored more goals than any other player under the age of 23 in Europe's top leagues. Last season alone, he scored 21 goals and provided six assists for RB Leipzig.
The young striker has also made a big impact on the international stage. He has already played 41 times for Slovenia, scoring 16 goals. He made his debut in 2021, becoming the youngest player ever to represent his country.
In a statement, Šeško shared his excitement about joining the club. "The history of Manchester United is obviously very special but what really excites me is the future," he said. He praised the club's plans and felt it was the perfect place for him to improve and "fulfil all of my ambitions."
Šeško also mentioned his eagerness to start working with his new coach, Ruben Amorim, and his new teammates to "achieve the success that we all know we are capable of together."
