Campaign Review: EC, Candidates and Police Meet for Peaceful Elections

The Electoral Commission (EC) held an important meeting today to look back at the first week of election campaigning.
The meeting brought together representatives from all eight Presidential Candidates and officials from the Uganda Police Force.
The main point of the discussion was to review any new problems that have come up and to make sure the campaigns remain peaceful and follow the law. They also checked that all campaign activities are sticking to the agreed-upon schedule and election rules.
After the talks, all groups—the candidates, the police, and the EC—agreed on an important point: any concerns or disagreements during the campaign must be solved through talking and discussion, not fighting or confrontation.
The Electoral Commission thanked everyone for working together, saying that their cooperation is helping to ensure the election process is smooth and believable.
