  KAMPALA — Members of Parliament (MPs) from the Muslim Parliamentary Caucus visited the Kibuli Mosque today for Friday Juma prayers. The lawmakers attended the prayers following an invitation from Prince Kassim Nakibinge Kakungulu, the traditional leader of the Muslim community in Uganda. Uganda has taken a significant step forward in its industrialisation drive with the arrival of three high-capacity transformers for the Kabalega Substation at the Hoima Industrial Park. Police have arrested a key suspect who is believed to have played a major role in the killing of popular rugby player Sydney Gongodyo. This new arrest brings the total number of suspects in custody to nine. Sydney Gongodyo, a 27-year-old player for the Stanbic Black Pirates rugby club, died last Friday after being severely beaten by an angry crowd. The tragic incident happened around 2:00 PM in a suburb of Kampala. According to local reports, a thief stole a woman's handbag and escaped on a motorcycle. When the woman screamed for help, a crowd gathered. Family members say the crowd mistakenly blamed Gongodyo for the theft. Even though he pleaded that he was innocent, the group attacked and stabbed him.
